A Special Edition of the Saturday Six From Manready Mercantile

A Special Edition of the Saturday Six From Manready Mercantile

Fellow Texans and creatives, Manready Mercantile, know the meaning of hard work and quality products. Started by Travis Weaver back in 2012, they carry thoughtfully curated premium goods all under one roof. Now with a location on South Congress, they even added HELM styles to their lineup. You may have seen our recent giveaway collaboration with them, and we enjoyed teaming up with them so much that we're now excited to feature them in this special edition of our weekly Saturday Six.

After you read their six picks, be sure to check them out next time you're in Houston or Austin, or head to their site to tide you over before your visit.

EAT | TRUTH BBQ

There’s not much that's better than good ol’ fashion Texas BBQ. One thing is for sure, TRUTH BBQ is a must-go-to spot if your’e looking for some of the finest smoked meats that you can get your chompers on. Originally founded by Leonard Botello in Brenham, Texas, they recently expanded into their newest location in Houston, and it's an absolute must if you’re looking for the best around.

DRINK | Ellis Hotel

Round Top Texas is known for hosting one of the biggest flea markets in the world, twice per year. When you’re out that way for the ultimate antique shopping extravaganza, make sure to pop by the Ellis Motel. Funny thing is, it’s not a motel at all. It’s actually a bar and lounge that makes the most amazing Old Fashioned that you can get your hands on. Trust us, this place is awesome and full of epic photo ops.

WEAR | Knickerbocker

When it comes to style, our friends at Knickerbocker MFG always have some rocking gear and are great for guys and gals. They incorporate vintage inspiration with modern fits and they wear like a dream. These dudes are true visionaries and we’re honored to carry them at Manready Mercantile ever since the day we opened.

VISIT | Blackwood Educational Land Institute

Not sure how to explain how cool Blackwood Educational Land Institute is, but we’ll try. This absolutely beautiful 33 acre farm and facility is a non-profit “teaching farm” that educates on the role of the food system from farm to table. You’ll be amazed how much you’ll learn, and you can even rent out their farm for retreats or individual cabin sleep overs. Intrigued to learn more? You should be!

RELAX | Incausa

We know you work hard and want to unwind after a long day. Some of our go-to hidden gems are the incense from Incausa, who collaborate with artisans, villages, and associations of eight different native ethnicities in the Amazon Basin. They offer the most interesting, if not mysterious, scents and smell-good items for your home that are out of this world. We’ve been working with them for years and love their story just as much as we love their goods.

LISTEN | Charley Crockett

If you know, you know - Charley Crockett delivers a mix of blues and country, and it'd be tough to pick a single song as a favorite. Crockett is originally from south Texas and and delivers music that speaks volumes about the good times and the bad. He’s one to add to your playlist folks.
