Great presentation and virtually no break in right out of the box. Color and style combine with iconic white midsole to make for a boot that is easily dressed up or down. Was somewhat worried at first as the leather seems to scratch easily, but was very impressed at how much a quick brushing seemed to completely buff these out. Would recommend to a friend (especially at sale price point).

I had to write something to let people know what a steal these are. They broke in very quickly and are super comfortable. The sole is truly the best of dressy and functional with just enough grip. Out of half a dozen goodyear welted boots I own including Rancourt and others with leather from Horween and CF Stead, I was very impressed by the Balthazar leather quality. The last is so comfortable I bought the Lou about a month after I got these Declans.

I can tell the quality is there, and I’ve bought from Helm a few times before, but these boots aren’t wearable to me, as one boot has a nice tight grain, but the other has very loose grain that makes it very **** and looks poor quality. And so it points to inconsistent quality in my eyes.
