A Special SXSW Weekend Edition of the Saturday Six

A Special SXSW Weekend Edition of the Saturday Six

SXSW has officially started, and we get our fair share of questions about the best places to eat, drink and shop. To help us narrow it down (because there are honestly too many great places throughout the entire city) we picked six of our favorite spots close by our brick and mortar on East 11th. Ok, maybe a few more than six....it was hard to narrow it down!

SHOP | Take Heart & Apartment F

Hands down two of our favorite boutiques, with one located just next door in the same building and the other only a block away. Both are beautifully curated with items that complete any interior design project, make for a healthier mind and body, or make perfect gifts for anyone in your life. Candles, books, stationary, blankets, rugs, children's toys, and jewelry. Everything is chosen with care by the owners so that they can easily be chosen with care by you.

SIP | Salt & Time Wine Shop

Looking for a great bottle of wine or maybe delicious chocolates and gourmet treats? The wine shopjust next door to (and owned by) Salt & Time has one of the best selections in the city, from bubbles to whites to reds and even ciders. They also have a table chock full of small bites to take away with you. Looking for more of a charcuterie spread? Pop over to Salt & Time and choose from their array of meats and cheeses in their butcher shop and grocery, or sit down for a meal with them at their bar.

CAFFEINATE | Figure 8 Coffee Purveyors & Fleet Coffee

This festival week means long nights and sometimes slow mornings. To help wake you, we picked out two of our favorite spots in town. Figure 8 roasts all of their coffee in-house at their shop on 11th & Chicon, with pastries from Swedish Hill and retail bags to snag for your Airbnb or house here in Austin. Fleet over on Webberville offers up delicious brews and friendly service right next to taco trucks and across from The Cavalier scratch kitchen.

EAT | Project Pollo & The Soup Peddler

Food on the quick doesn't need to be unhealthy. These two are conveniently right next to each other so everyone in the group can find something to enjoy. The Soup Peddler serves up healthy smoothies, tasty salads, a variety of soups, and a wide range of grilled cheese (think pesto, muenster, apples, or pepperoni). Project Pollo offers up vegan fare that even meat lovers will go wild for. Loaded fries, brunch burritos, some of the most amazing burgers and chicken sandwiches we've had on this side of town; their menu is wide-ranging and you can't go wrong with anything you choose.

FRESHEN UP | Barbon's Barbershop & Modesty Hair Studio

Maybe you didn't have time before coming to town to go to your local salon or shop, or maybe you just need a fresh cut or shave as a nice boost and pampering. These two have you covered. Barbon's Barbershop (next to the previously mentioned Salt & Time) is one that Austinites rave about, whether they're looking for a classic cut or a more modern style. Modesty Hair Studio (right next to us) has incredible stylists across the board to accentuate your unique style or provide quality products.

WEAR | Lovecraft & HELM x HILOS Pop-Up

A woman owned and operated small business here on East 11th, Lovecraft carries sustainable and ethically made clothing, jewelry and accessories, along with home goods and even a line of apothecary products. After you're done browsing their shop, we're just around the corner. Today and tomorrow we'll be hosting the HILOs pop-up, with their women's line, exclusive HELM discounts, cocktails, and personalized fittings. Stop by and say hi!
