A Special Weekly Edition Of The Saturday Six: Six Ways To Help In Texas

The overwhelming amount of support for our fellow Texans that we've seen throughout the last week has been incredible and we want to say thank you, truly. While so many still are without electricity, heat, food, clean water or no water at all, we know that our platform shouldn't be wasted and is best used as a resource in this moment of extraordinary need. 

 

This Special Edition of the Saturday Six highlights six ways to lend a hand, no matter how near or far you are. 

 

 

 

AUSTIN MUTUAL AID

 

What They Do
Help to ensure that unhoused residents of Austin are safe, have refuge, food and the supplies that they need.

 

How to Help
You can volunteer with your vehicle (4 wheel drive only), deliver supplies, donate supplies, or donate through GoFundMe and Venmo. 

 

 

 

HOUSTON CROWDSOURCE RESCUE

 

What They Do
Quickly connects people with professionals and first responders in Houston before, during and after disasters occur.

 

How to Help
Volunteer as a responder or dispatcher, deliver supplies or donate to help cover costs of rescue (currently they are organizing quick reactions to ensure the safety of senior citizens).

 

 

FEED THE PEOPLE | DALLAS MUTUAL AID

 

What They Do
Provides groceries and essential items to people in need in the Dallas area - no questions asked. Gives basic medical care, laundry services, hot meals and supplies to unhoused residents of Dallas.

 

How to Help
Volunteer your time, buy supplies using their wishlist, or donate funds to help support the project.

 

 

 

AUSTIN PETS ALIVE!

 

What They Do
Currently working to keep their animals on site warm and safe while providing resources for pet owners in the community of Austin.

 

How to Help
Donate supplies, donate funds to help support the shelter or check on your neighbors and their four-legged friends to ensure they have everything they need.

 

 

 

FRONT STEPS

 

What They Do
Providing transport, supplies and access to shelter for unhoused individuals of Austin.

 

How to Help
Volunteer your time, donate, or take part in their annual blanket drive. 

 

 

 

FEEDING TEXAS

 

What They Do
Works with food banks throughout the state to provide resources and educate state and federal policy-makers on causes and solutions for food shortages. 

 

How to Help
Learn more about hunger and food insecurity, find out how to get involved or donate to keep the movement going.
