At Home With MyCreativeLook

At Home With MyCreativeLook

As some of us find ourselves working from home, we also find that video calls are a common occurrence. Although requiring less formal attire than the in-person office meetings, it's still important to convey a look of professionalism even if we can ditch the suit and tie.

For those of us who are finding a bit more downtime, we often hear about the importance of repetition and still getting ready in the morning. One way to ensure our emotional well-being is to take care of our physical well-being, and one really simple way to do that is to feel good outwardly.

That's why we love the looks that Seth Hartman from MyCreativeLook continues to put together. With pieces that many of us have already in our wardrobe (or something similiar), he pulls together tailored outfits that are quick, easy, and perfect for that Zoom meeting, walk with the dog or kicking back on the porch with your morning coffee.

Here are just a few of the looks that Seth created featuring the Zind, but you can find more here on the MyCreativeLook site.

TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR JOB AND HOW MYCREATIVE LOOK GOT STARTED

I'm currently working as a Creative Director at a software development company called Clevyr. Every day looks completely different. One day I could be designing augmented reality, the next day I could be creating a desktop user interface, and the following day could be something with marketing. I wear a lot of hats when it comes to designing and managing projects.

A little rewind into how MyCreativeLook got started. In 2003 I started modeling and I really enjoyed it for the fashion and new trends in the industry. Over the next few years I grew to dislike the culture and competitiveness, so I stepped away. Fast forward to 2016 - I picked back up in the interest I had for fashion, paired it with my love of design, and started an Instagram account showcasing flat lays of my outfits and clothing. I've been able to enjoy every aspect I loved about fashion back in 2003, while also helping small and large businesses grow and expand.

DO YOU HAVE A GO-TO PAIR OF HELM OR A FAVORITE STYLE AT THE MOMENT?

My Zind Teak and Zind Natural have always been my go-to pairs. They are the two pairs that started my addiction.

AS MORE PEOPLE ARE WORKING FROM HOME, WHAT ARE YOUR TIPS FOR STAYING PRODUCTIVE?

With having a job that I can easily work from home, I always go through the same motion of morning routine. I try not to change it up too much because it's all a mental game. If you keep yourself in the same rituals, it helps balance the areas that are different. Especially the fact of getting dressed ever day.

SINCE ZOOM MEETINGS ARE QUITE POPULAR THESE DAYS, WHAT IS AN EASY GO-TO LOOK FOR A VIDEO CALL?

I tend to keep it pretty straight forward with a button-up shirt and a pair of denim. I try to avoid straying away from the normal as I know my productivity shifts.

WHAT IS A SMALL BUSINESS THAT YOU'RE SUPPORTING?

This is a tough one because there are a ton of small businesses that I would love to recognize. Based on their mission, quality products, and assortment, here's a short list:

@helmboots

@tradesupplycompany

@taylrdclothing

@katobrand

@bridgeandburn

@mylesapparel
