Saturday Six 203

Saturday Six 203

DRINK | Holy Grale

Located inside of a renovated Unitarian chapel house, Holy Grale is one of our favorite spots in Louisville and, although it wasn't in the special edition Saturday Six last week, we couldn’t pass up a chance to feature it. With a rotating selection of beer from around the world, specialty cocktails, and a food menu that features local ingredients, their backyard garden patio is the perfect spot to stop by and enjoy a drink with friends.

LISTEN | Wander Sky "Settle Down"

We often find ourselves putting on a playlist to work to, and “Lofi” music is one of our go-tos. Recently this one came on and we had to stop working to see who it was. Their song called Settle Down is their newest release of 2022, and exploring their other singles has been a deep dive we're enjoying. If you’re looking for music that’s easy to work to and relax to, be sure to explore Wander Sky.

FOLLOW | Mark Maggiori

When Mark Maggiori was only 15, he traveled the United States and the National Parks in the Southwest captured his attention. We're so grateful they did because they inspired his stunning art that he creates to this day. Beautifully detailed western scenes with textured landscapes and captivating detail, Maggiori's work is dramatic in all the best ways. Give him a follow or check out his website here.

EAT | Koko's Bavarian

We recently checked this one out in the 100+ degree heat with a dog in tow (maybe not the best way to discover a new restaurant) but Koko's Bavarian delivered. Dog friendly, plenty of seating, and even vegan options, this East Austin German restaurant serves up delicious fare alongside in-house brews. That’s not even mentioning how friendly and welcoming the staff is, so there’s no reason not to stop by, say hi, and enjoy a bratwurst and some good company.

READ | The Keeper of the Wild Worlds by Brooke Smith

This beautifully illustrated book by Brooke Smith is a great way to explore the world around you with the younger generations of the family. A story about a grandmother and her granddaughter, The Keeper of Wild Words focuses on the power of language while helping children learn more about nature and the environment outside their window. A great picture book to take along on a nature walk or a day out in the garden, we always love an excuse to get outside and take a closer look at what’s around us.
