This account is loaded with fascinating photos from history - the 1800’s to the 1980’s - with some of our favorites being the notorious gangsters, intriguing inventions and sometimes shocking medical procedures. The Scholz Garten is a hidden gem in downtown Austin that’s been slingin’ German Bier & Texas Food since 1866. We’ve been there for lunch and we’ve been there for drinks and it’s excellent for both. The back porch and patio garden area is grand and inside there’s a full bar, featuring handmade cocktails, whiskey, cold beer, wurst, schnitzel, pretzels, wings & burgers. As if that’s not enough, they do damn good TX BBQ catering and can host events too - komm essen und trinken!

If you’re around or near Silver Lake then go check them out and have a bev in their cafe’. If you’re not, then hit their website because it’ll give you a taste of how they really do trot the globe and find all the cool stuff so you don’t have to.

Bridge & Burn is one of our favorite stores and they put together these sweet music mixes that we always dig on. This one in particular is ideal for the feelings of the beginnings of 2019 and also a sublime accompaniment for working. Cinematic tunes that straddle the line between classical and electronic, with arrtists like Nils Frahm, Max Richter, Agnes Obel, and Dustin O’Halloran. This mix creates the perfect music for introspection.
