In 2016, Bradley Day joined the HELM team and now it's impossible to imagine any other guy leading the charge. Keeping us grounded and focused, he makes sure your happiness comes before business. OK, it sounds cheesy but really, every company could benefit from having a Bradley. This one's ours though, sorry.
For everything that he's done for HELM, obviously a shoe was going to carry his name one day. Now that the Bradley style is officially here, it's also time for you to know a bit more about the guy who held the name first.
WHO ARE YOU?
I’m the part of the HELM team that couldn’t handle those Texas summers so moved back to Oregon. Outside of being a dad and a husband, I’m also the President and COO of HELM Boots.
HOW DO YOU START YOUR DAY?
Most days are started with one of the kids coming into our room, crawling into the bed and stealing my pillows. Once I’m up though, I try to get a run in at least 3-4 days a week so depending on the weather, I’ll sneak one of those in early morning.
CURRENTLY BINGE WATCHING:
I just finished the last season of Bosch on Amazon Prime but am on a documentary kick right now instead of a particular series. Recently finishing Three Identical Strangers. Must see if you haven’t.
MOST USED APP ON THE PHONE IS:
As sad as it is, probably the email app.
FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN PORTLAND:
Afuri on SE 7th street. Can’t get enough of their Ramen even though my wife tells me we can’t go there anymore because there are so many other amazing restaurants in Portland. She’s right, but I still always ask.
CURRENT FAVORITE THING TO DO WHEN NOT WORKING:
I have to be outside when I'm not working, even if the weather isn’t great. Right now it's getting the kids who are 4 and 3 up to the mountain and teaching them how to ski.
YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO HANG OUT IS:
Home or on the mountain. Very few places make me as happy as being on the mountain, one of the reasons why we moved back to Oregon a couple of years ago and why I’m forcing the sport on my little ones.
WHAT DOES 2019 HOLD FOR YOU?
Health and happiness as cheesy as that sounds. Continuing to love what we're doing at HELM, seeing our team and brand grow, and then also making sure that my family always comes first. Also, maybe a couple ski trips out of town with just the boys.
